Newly elected officials sworn in for 2021

Three newly elected officials and several re-elected officials were sworn in to office Dec. 17 to begin serving their terms on Jan. 1.

Probate Judge Melanie Bell swore in the officials and had each sign the oath of office and oath of loyalty for their respective offices.

District 3 Commissioner Alana Sanders was sworn in for the first time, along with Coroner Dorothy Bailey-Butts and Tax Commissioner Marcus Jordan. 

Chairman Marcello Banes took his second oath of office, along with District 1 Commissioner Stan Edwards and District 5 Commissioner Ronnie Cowan.

Sheriff Ezell Brown, who was also re-elected in November, was sworn in as well.
