Available for: Grades Pre-K through 5th Grade (and others by special request: including higher grades, civic clubs, church groups, etc
.)
Keep Newton Beautiful (KNB) coordinates the production of a puppet show each year. All shows star Seymore Green, beloved raccoon mascot of KNB. The puppet shows deliver important environmental messages such as litter and pollution prevention and the importance of recycling and conservation in a way that is fun and interesting to children.
KNB believes that if future leaders learn important environmental concepts at an early age, they will remember and value these concepts as they grow up and become influential in their communities.
Volunteer puppeteers travel to elementary schools in Newton County to perform the puppet shows. A professional producer writes and records the shows and makes all of the puppets.
Scheduling
Puppet shows last about 25 minutes. With an introduction and time for children to come in and go out, one show takes about 30 minutes. KNB requests that shows be scheduled 45 minutes to 1 hour apart to allow time for changing scenery and organizing puppets. KNB will work with you to accommodate your schedules for lunches, reading blocks, field trips, and other activities.
