Newton County Chairman Marcello Banes met with Reginald Cofer, the Regional Outreach Coordinator for Senator Jon Ossoff Monday.
Banes, along with Newton County Transportation Director Chester Clegg, Executive Assistant to County Manager Harold Cooper Lani White and Hwy. 278 CID Administrator Kathy Morgan, met with Cofer to discuss the County’s priorities regarding assistance from the Senator’s office.
At the top of the County’s list for the Senator’s office was transportation improvements. Clegg relayed to Cofer upcoming projects, including the widening of Brown Bridge Road. Also discussed was funding for Hwy. 278 CID projects and infrastructure upgrades as more development comes to Newton County.
